Job description

Role : Mainframe Engineer/Developer

Location : Jersey City , NJ

This is a 3 months contract to hire position.

Candidates who are authorized to work for any employer in US without requiring visa sponsorship now or in future can apply
Also, this is going to be 5 days onsite every other week.

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Mainframe Engineer/Developer to join a collaborative, high-performing technology team. In this role, you will design, develop, test, and support mainframe applications while partnering with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions from development through production.

Key Responsibilities
Develop, enhance, test, and debug mainframe applications.
Perform code analysis, troubleshooting, and production support.
Collaborate with infrastructure and environment teams to promote code across development, testing, and production environments.
Work closely with business and technical stakeholders to deliver reliable, high-quality solutions.
Participate in application maintenance, enhancements, and issue resolution.

Required Qualifications
5+ years of experience developing and debugging mainframe applications.
5+ years of COBOL development experience.
Strong experience with:
CICS
COBOL
DB2
VSAM
MQ
JCL
Experience with Endeavor Software Manager.
Familiarity with DB2 utilities, File-AID, job schedulers, and debugging tools.
Knowledge of secure file transfer processes (SFTP/AWX).
Understanding of CICS Dynamic Transaction Routing is preferred.
Strong communication and collaboration skills with technical and business stakeholders.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Skills
CICS systems administration knowledge.
Experience with Java and front-end technologies such as Angular.

Bachelor''s degree in Computer Science or a related field
