Technical Product Trainer

Base Salary Rate: $72,140.00 to $84,870.00

About this role

The Technical Product Trainer is responsible for developing and delivering technical training programs that enable customers, channel partners, distributors, technicians, engineers, and internal personnel to install, program, commission, troubleshoot, and support Edwards and Kidde Commercial fire and life-safety systems. This role serves as a technical subject matter expert and partners closely with Product Management, Engineering, Technical Support, Sales, and Instructional Design teams to drive product competency, certification achievement, and customer success.

Key Responsibilities Training Delivery & Customer Enablement
  • Deliver instructor‑led and/or virtual technical training programs for customers, channel partners, and internal personnel.
  • Provide hands‑on instruction covering system installation, programming, commissioning, networking, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Support product launches, certification programs, and customer enablement initiatives.
  • Adapt training methods to meet the needs of diverse technical and non‑technical audiences.
  • Travel as needed to support remote training and customer engagement activities.
  • Develop, maintain, and continuously improve training materials, labs, assessments, eLearning /video content, and job aids.
  • Collaborate with Instructional Design, Product Management, Engineering, and Technical Support to ensure content reflects current products, firmware releases, and industry best practices.
  • Support content localization and digital learning initiatives while maintaining technical accuracy and quality standards.
Technical Expertise & Program Administration
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on Edwards and Kidde Commercial fire alarm, networking, and software solutions.
  • Maintain knowledge of applicable fire alarm codes, standards, and emerging technologies.
  • Administer certification programs, skills assessments, and learner records through approved learning management systems. (LMS)
  • Monitor training effectiveness through learner feedback, certification results, and training metrics, recommending improvements as needed.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and train‑the‑trainer programs.
Basic Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • 3+ years’ experience in technical training, technical support, field service, system commissioning, or a related technical role.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering Technology, Fire Protection Technology, Education, or a related field.
  • Experience with fire alarm, life‑safety, low‑voltage, or building systems technologies.
  • Experience presenting technical information to technical and non‑technical audiences.
  • Experience with Edwards and/or Kidde Commercial systems.
  • Experience teaching in an adult learning setting.
  • Knowledge of fire alarm programming, commissioning, networking, and troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with NFPA 72 and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Relevant industry certifications.
  • Experience with Learning Management Systems and adult learning methodologies.
  • Multilingual capabilities and experience working with channel partners.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to travel up to 60%.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and virtual training platforms.
  • Passport and ability to travel internationally
Compensation and Benefits

Individuals may be eligible for an annual performance bonus based on both individual and company’s performance. The final compensation for this position will be set based on the individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience as it relates to the job requirements.
