Internship Description


POSITION TITLE: Adolescent Parenting Program Marketing Intern

SUPERVISOR: Family Support Program Manager

JOB SUMMARY: The APP Marketing Intern assists the Family Support Program Manager with increasing local awareness of the Adolescent Parenting Program, including attending relevant events, communicating with community partners, creating marketing materials and disseminating those materials (on social media, through email, at events), and serving on the Community Advisory Committee.

QUALIFICATIONS: Must be in a relevant bachelors or master's program, have strong written/verbal communication skills, and strong organizational skills. Support for the EFC mission and vision and a desire to develop nonprofit marketing skills are essential.

GOALS OF APP MARKETING INTERNSHIP:

  • To develop a clear understanding of, and ability to communicate, the purpose of the Adolescent Parenting Program.
  • To meet the needs of intern's academic program and develop skills needed for future work in the marketing sector.
  • To assist the Family Support Program Manager recruiting teen parent participants for Parents as Teachers home visiting program.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Works alongside the Family Support Program Manager and primary Parenting Coach and Family Therapist to learn about the Adolescent Parenting Program.
  2. Creates compelling materials and shares with stakeholders, referral sources, and parents.
  3. Schedules regular social media posts on EFC's platforms.
  4. Attends and participates in regular supervision meetings with Family Support Program Manager.
  5. Ensures that work products are saved properly to preserve their usefulness to staff and future interns/volunteers.
  6. Other duties as they become necessary or that meet interests of intern and needs of the organization. Optional tasks may include:
  • Assisting with referral submission
  • Visiting local schools to spread program awareness
  • Utilizing data to assess marketing strategies
  • Creates media stories from client success stories and parenting tips
  • Tasks related to intern's area of interest or degree program, as approved by supervisor.
