Job Summary

The Installation Engineer / Electrical is responsible for overseeing the installation, integration, design support, and commissioning of TIME Manufacturing aerial lifts and related equipment on various chassis platforms. This role ensures that all installations and supporting design documentation meet engineering specifications, safety standards, and customer requirements while contributing to continuous improvement and technical excellence across the business.

This position combines hands-on installation leadership with engineering design responsibilities, including 3D modeling, drawing creation, schematic development, and BOM generation.

Key Responsibilities Installation & Integration
  • Lead installation and integration of aerial lift equipment on vehicles in alignment with engineering drawings, schematics, and specifications.
  • Conduct system checks, functional testing, and troubleshooting to ensure proper operation of hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems.
  • Collaborate with design engineering, production, and service teams to resolve installation or field-related issues.
  • Communicate and coordinate extensively with chassis, body, and component vendors to align specifications and resolve integration challenges.
  • Travel to field sites as needed for installations, inspections, or technical support.

Design & Engineering Documentation

  • Create and modify 3D models and detailed manufacturing drawings using CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or equivalent).
  • Develop and maintain electrical and hydraulic schematics to support installation, troubleshooting, and production.
  • Generate and maintain accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs) aligned with engineering releases and production requirements.
  • Support engineering change orders (ECOs) and continuous improvement initiatives through updated documentation and design revisions.
  • Assist with prototype builds and new product development efforts, providing installation and integration feedback.

Continuous Improvement & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations, safety standards, and company quality processes.
  • Document installation procedures, updates, and lessons learned to support continuous improvement.
  • Provide technical support and training to internal teams, field service personnel, and customers.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Associate’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or related field; equivalent technical experience considered.
  • 0-5 years of experience in equipment installation, commissioning, or field service, preferably in heavy equipment, manufacturing, or automotive industries.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, electrical and hydraulic schematics, and technical manuals.
  • Experience creating 3D models, detailed drawings, schematics, and BOMs in a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical systems.
  • Experience in equipment installation, commissioning, vehicle integration, or heavy equipment manufacturing preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a bias for action and continuous improvement.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills across cross-functional teams and external vendors.
  • Experience designing and modifying electrical schematics and wiring diagrams
  • Knowledge of 12V/24V vehicle electrical systems and control circuits
  • Experience integrating sensors, controllers, relays, CAN systems, and safety circuits
  • Experience generating electrical BOMs and harness documentation
  • Willingness to travel domestically as required.
