Job Responsibilities & Requirements

MiTek Canada is growing again and searching for a motivated and experienced Production Supervisor to oversee our stamping shift on afternoons.

Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Production Supervisor will supervise, and coordinate activities of workers engaged in operating a variety of machines to manufacture parts or products.

Work Schedule: This position will work on the afternoon shift from 4:00pm to 2:30am Monday to Thursday. Must be able to train on day shift for first few weeks. Required to work occasionally on Fridays as per business needs.

What You Will Do:

Responsibilities

  • Lead a department in the execution of daily production tasks, training, and continuous improvement
  • Work closely with the Day Shift Production Supervisor to assign and manage the daily required targets and goals
  • Ensure routed production materials are issued/or received on the production floor and located accurately by the team in a timely manner
  • Address safety concerns with team members immediately to prevent injuries and production hazards, and promptly follow up as needed
  • Ensure all team members wear protective gear during production and monitor compliance with safety instructions throughout the team
  • Execute safety walks and weekly safety audits
  • Ensure team members are performing inspections correctly
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area
  • Actively engage in training and on-the-job development opportunities to advance competency in the MiTek Leadership Blueprint
  • Ensure ERP/MRP production transactions are done correctly and in a timely manner
  • Identify areas for improvement and lead efforts to drive efficiencies, fostering team growth at the site
  • Ensure timely identification and resolution of issues impacting production
  • Maintain positive employee relations and adhere to Company policies, safety standards, and good housekeeping practices
  • Work closely with other Plant departments to address and resolve issues
  • Work with local manufacturing engineering group to implement efficient and effective Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) that production employees are trained to
  • Ability to work overtime as needed to meet production deadlines and operational demands
  • Perform safety and incident reporting
  • Responsible for shutdown and securing of plant at end of shift

Qualifications

  • High School/GED required
  • 2+ Years in leadership role responsible for 4 or more personnel in manufacturing environment
  • Able to use computer and Microsoft Office Applications

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ Years experience in manufacturing, production, or warehouse environment
  • Experience in MRP Software
  • Experience in RF Scanners
  • Forklift experience

Physical Demands
