Engineering Manager

Job Summary:

The Engineering Manager is responsible for providing technical leadership and management oversight for engineering teams supporting complex Department of Defense programs. This position directs engineering personnel responsible for network infrastructure, information assurance, software applications, and enterprise information systems. The Engineering Manager ensures technical compliance, manages engineering resources, supports project execution, and delivers innovative, mission-focused solutions that meet customer requirements while maintaining the highest standards of quality, security, and operational excellence.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage engineering teams supporting enterprise IT and network infrastructure projects.
  • Oversee the design, implementation, integration, and sustainment of complex information systems.
  • Ensure compliance with DoD cybersecurity requirements, engineering standards, and contractual obligations.
  • Manage engineering schedules, technical risks, resource allocation, and project deliverables.
  • Coordinate with program management, customers, subcontractors, and technical stakeholders to ensure successful project execution.
  • Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and leadership to engineering personnel.
  • Support proposal development, technical reviews, engineering documentation, and strategic planning efforts.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and ensure engineering solutions align with mission objectives and customer expectations.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen. Active DoD Top Secret Security Clearance required.
  • Bachelor's degree in related field
  • DoD 8570.01-M IAM Level II Certification, PMP
  • 15 years of demonstrated experience developing, implementing, and sustaining enterprise-wide, large-scale information systems.
  • Minimum of 10 years of demonstrated experience in a senior engineering leadership position.
  • Minimum of 10 years of demonstrated experience managing teams of IT/IP engineers supporting complex IT projects.
  • Demonstrated experience managing projects involving:
    • Network infrastructure
    • Information Assurance (IA)
    • Software applications
    • Enterprise network environments
  • Proven ability to lead engineering teams, manage technical resources, and oversee multiple engineering initiatives while ensuring successful project execution.
  • Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Extensive experience supporting complex Department of Defense network infrastructures and enterprise IT environments.

Work Location: On-site support.

Compensation: $195,500.00 - $293,135.00 The salary range posted is for Washington, DC. The offered rate will be based on contract affordability, the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, abilities, and/or experience, and in consideration of internal parity.

Additional Compensation:

KBR may offer bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation to certain job titles or levels, per internal policy or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be in the form of sign on bonus, relocation benefits, short-term incentives, long-term incentives, or discretionary payments for exceptional performance.
