Job description

We are looking for a Software Engineer to join our team in Ulster County, New York and help build dependable, secure, and scalable software solutions. In this role, you will contribute across the development lifecycle, from shaping technical approaches with business and product partners to delivering and supporting production applications. This position offers the opportunity to work with modern development tools, cloud-based platforms, and cross-functional teams to create solutions that support both current goals and future growth.


Responsibilities:

• Build, enhance, and maintain custom applications and system integrations with a focus on reliability, security, performance, and long-term supportability.

• Collaborate with business analysts, product stakeholders, and project teams to translate needs into practical technical designs and high-level solution plans.

• Develop shared services, reusable components, and internal frameworks that improve consistency and efficiency across the engineering team.

• Partner with cross-functional application teams to create proofs of concept and deliver software solutions for internal and cloud-based environments.

• Support the release lifecycle by contributing to application development, production deployment, monitoring, and ongoing maintenance activities.

• Work with engineering leadership and product partners to shape platform roadmaps and align development efforts with business priorities.

• Deliver software through iterative development practices, applying established coding standards, engineering methods, and continuous improvement principles.

• Contribute to architectural standards, design patterns, and governance practices while helping guide sound technical decisions across projects.

• Provide technical mentorship and share development knowledge with teammates to strengthen engineering quality and team capability.

• 2 to 5 years of software engineering experience in a similar role.

• Experience developing platforms.

• Hands-on development experience with C#, .NET Core, JavaScript or TypeScript, and modern front-end frameworks such as Angular, React, Vue, or Svelte.

• Experience building and supporting CI/CD pipelines using platforms such as Azure DevOps or GitHub.

• Familiarity with cloud services, containerized deployments, and orchestration tools including Kubernetes and Helm.

• Working knowledge of Python development, including frameworks or templating tools such as Flask, Django, or Jinja.

• Experience with data and messaging technologies such as PostgreSQL, Microsoft SQL Server, Redis, Apache Kafka, or RabbitMQ.

• Ability to contribute effectively within a full-stack development environment and produce clear technical documentation.

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent industry-recognized certifications.
