Systems Software Engineer
Description -
Job Summary
This role is responsible for leading firmware/software design for firmware diagnostics improvement to shift left the firmware issue triage at field site. The role ensures the identification and resolution of software and firmware issues, ensuring timely and effective solutions. The role creates and updates technical documentation, including design specifications, code comments, and user guides. The role stays up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends in software and firmware development.
Responsibilities
โ€ข Lead the architecture design and development of firmware for diagnostics improvement.
โ€ข Collaborate with firmware engineering team and Quality teams to define and implement firmware solutions for firmware debug capability improvement.
โ€ข Leads multiple project teams of other software firmware engineers and internal and outsourced development partners responsible for all stages of design and development for complex products and platforms.
โ€ข Develop and maintain firmware architecture documentation and guidelines.
โ€ข Lead proof of concept projects to explore new technologies and innovative firmware solutions.
โ€ข Provides domain-specific expertise and overall firmware leadership and perspective to cross-organization projects, programs, and activities.
โ€ข Collaborates with hardware engineers to ensure proper integration and communication between hardware and firmware components.
โ€ข Drives innovation and integration of new technologies into projects and activities in the firmware design organization.
โ€ข Mentor less-experienced software firmware engineers and help guide them to successful deliverables.
Education & Experience Recommended
โ€ข Four-year or Graduate Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Electrical Engineering, or any other related discipline or commensurate work experience or demonstrated competence.
โ€ข Typically has 7-10 years of work experience, preferably in firmware development, or a related field.
โ€ข Strong proficiency in C/C++ programming languages.
โ€ข Experience with embedded systems, BIOS, UEFI, and low-level hardware interactions.

โ€ข Familiarity with power delivery protocols and USB-C technology.
