Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Demand and Time Deposits organization. Learn more about career areas and business divisions at https://www.wellsfargojobs.com.


We are hiring a Senior Software Engineer to help drive transformation in Core Banking Deposits to support modernizing and automating legacy processes. If you are looking to solve problems at scale and make an impact to core testing processes in the mainframe, then this is the role for you. We are looking for technical hands-on leads to drive enterprise testing initiatives across the organization and solve enterprise challenges with an automation first mindset.

Our team is focusing on automating BAU processes to enable engineers and application teams to move faster while improving scalability, consistency, and security at scale.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead moderately complex initiatives and deliverables within technical domain environments

  • Contribute to large scale planning of strategies

  • Design, code, test, debug, and document for projects and programs associated with technology domain, including upgrades and deployments

  • Review moderately complex technical challenges that require an in-depth evaluation of technologies and procedures

  • Resolve moderately complex issues and lead a team to meet existing client needs or potential new clients needs while leveraging solid understanding of the function, policies, procedures, or compliance requirements

  • Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and mid-level managers to resolve technical challenges and achieve goals

  • Lead projects and act as an escalation point, provide guidance and direction to less experienced staff


Required Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

  • 4+ years of automation experience in a mainframe environment

  • 4+ years of hands-on development experience with mainframe systems

Desired Qualifications:

  • Working in Mainframe Environment:IBM z/OS systems and associated utilities/tools (e.g., CICS, TSO/ISPF, SDSF, File-AID, Abend-Aid,)

  • Mainframe Tools: CA7 (Scheduling), Endeavor, REXX and Easytrieve

  • Hand on experience with CA7 scheduler job automation

  • Hands on experience debugging independently

  • Strong understanding of batch job processes

  • Hands on experience in creating modern tech stack automation frameworks

  • COBOL development

  • Experience with REXX , SORT utilities, and creating JCL's

  • Analyze user and business requirements and translate them into technical design specifications

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (analysts, testers, operations) throughout the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)

  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, bugs, and production incidents in a timely manner

  • DB2, VSAM, IMS DB/DC (experience may vary by company)

  • Ability to work at enterprise level and communicate in large forums

  • Strong analytical and communication skills

  • Hogan knowledge and hands on development Hogan IDS, Hogan CIS, Hogan Umbrella, Hogan Deposits, Hogan RPM

  • IT PM experience or skills - nice to have

  • Banking experience

  • Deposits experience

Pay Range

Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to demonstrated examples of prior performance, skills, experience, or work location. Employees may also be eligible for incentive opportunities.

$100,000.00 - $179,000.00
