Job description

Standard Job Description
Manages the design, development, operation, and maintenance of software and firmware components and computing systems software to be applied to and integrated with engineering, scientific, and manufacturing requirements. Responsible for coordinating subordinate employee recruitment, selection and training, performance assessment, work assignments, salary, and recognition/disciplinary actions. Oversees the appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the system development life cycle to support the generation of such engineering applications and products such as laboratory simulation systems, airplane flight control and display systems, avionics, mechanical and electrical systems, weapons armament, commercial and military aircraft systems, mobile and ground-based defense systems, space systems, and other systems and applications of this nature. Insures the interface with customers, suppliers, application users, and other technical and support personnel.
Basic Qualifications
• Must currently hold an Active DoD Secret Security Clearance to be considered for this position
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or Computer Science. Other related degree field with significant software development experience
• Experience with embedded development using a real-time operating system
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex technical embedded software systems/programs
• Process Improvement and Affordability experience
• Software engineering Management or Software engineering Team Lead experience including task planning, budget management, subcontract management and/or employee development and mentoring
Desired Skills
• Strong software architecture and design experience.
• C/C++/Ada experience
• Linux/VxWorks experience
• DevSecOps experience (CI/CD, Git/Gitlab)
• Agile development (Scrum/Kanban)
• Ability to collaborate with multi-functional teams
• Basis of Estimate (BOE) development
• Control Account Manager (CAM) experience
• In addition to meeting security clearance requirements, candidate may need to be approved to work Special Access Program (SAP) prior to start of employment
• Earned Value Management System (EVMS) experience including Agile EVMS
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Prior Engineering Management
• Proposal Development
• Strong business acumen, management influence and whole systems thinking

Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $98100.00 - $182100.00

Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
