Join our software engineering team charged with creating cutting edge, machine-reasoning teammates working in tandem with our warfighters and intelligence professionals to achieve the next level in operational, near-real time decision superiority.
As a Software Engineer/Developer, you'll contribute to national security by developing and maintaining sophisticated AI-enabling Advanced Battle Management software to address Combined Joint All-Domain Command and Control (CJADC2) decision advantage. CACI's Machine Enhanced Decision Advantage (MEDA) effort takes direct aim at reasoning over structured and unstructured battlespace data to deliver higher quality decisions at faster speeds. This role offers hands-on experience with trailblazing AI algorithms, combat-facing systems, and model-based, modular, and open systems technology while working alongside experienced engineers in a highly collaborative environment. You'll have the opportunity to grow your skills in a mission-driven role that is at the solutioning forefront of military and intelligence decision-making.
Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the development and enhancement of model-based, decision-making algorithms under the guidance of senior engineers.
  • Participate in requirements and system architecture analysis meetings with the MEDA project team.
  • Support the development of interface architectures that integrate one or more AI/ML modules with each other and external software applications.
  • Lead UI design and development.
  • Perform object-oriented software development in Java and Python on the Linux operating system.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues with MEDA software components.
  • Document software components and updates in maintenance manuals.
  • Assist with system configuration and installation activities.
  • Collaborate effectively within a small development team in a dynamic environment where requirements may change with minimal lead time.
  • Participate in domestic and foreign travel as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Required:
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government SECRET Security Clearance (minimum).
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related STEM discipline.
  • Strong foundation in software engineering principles and practices.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Working knowledge of object-oriented programming concepts.
  • Familiarity with model-based systems engineering.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to changing requirements.
  • Collaborating with warfighters to iterate on user stories and software features.

Desired:
  • Master's degree in a relevant technical discipline.
  • U.S. Government Top Secret clearance.
  • 2+ years of professional software development experience.
  • Experience developing on Linux operating systems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Familiarity with AI/ML concepts and techniques.

There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications.
