Description

Purpose of the role:

The Technical Service Engineer Intern will support the Repair Services Team by assisting in the design, documentation, and manufacturing of specialized tools, fixtures, and testing equipment. This role offers hands-on experience in engineering design, reverse engineering, and technical documentation within a fast-paced, technical service environment.


The intern will help improve operational efficiency by taking on foundational engineering tasks, enabling the team to focus on high-complexity projects.


Responsibilities

  • Assist in the creation of technical documentation for special tools, including 2D drawings and 3D models using SolidWorks.
  • Develop work instructions and knowledge transfer materials to support tool usage and processes. 
  • Create and manage kitting work orders and build material lists for tools, test boxes, and manufacturing equipment
  • Gather user requirements and manufacturer specifications to support reverse engineering of aircraft component testing tools.
  • Support the design and manufacturing of test boxes, fixtures, and related equipment
  • Collaborate with engineers and technicians to improve development timelines and project efficiency.

Requirements

Required

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field
  • Familiarity with CAD software (SolidWorks preferred)
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Ability to interpret technical requirements and specifications

Preferred:

  • Exposure to LabVIEW, PLC programming, or electrical circuit design
  • Experience with tools such as KiCad, Proteus, or Altium Designer
  • Interest in aerospace, manufacturing, or repair services environments
