Position Overview:
We are seeking highly motivated Software Engineers with strong backend or fullstack engineering experience to join our high-performance engineering team in San Francisco. This role is ideal for ambitious builders who thrive in fast-paced startup environments and want significant ownership in a true 0→1 product journey.
You will work directly on production systems powering AI-driven insurance workflows, collaborating closely with customers and elite teammates from organizations such as Amazon Web Services, Palantir Technologies, DRW, and Optiver.
Engineers are trusted to deploy to production from Day 1 and are expected to independently solve product, infrastructure, and customer problems with minimal oversight.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend systems and APIs using Python
  • Build and ship production-ready features end-to-end with high ownership
  • Work directly with customers to understand workflows and improve product functionality
  • Collaborate cross-functionally on product architecture, infrastructure, and AI-driven solutions
  • Write technical specifications and make critical engineering decisions independently
  • Optimize system reliability, scalability, and performance across the platform
  • Contribute to product strategy in a highly iterative startup environment
  • Deploy and monitor services in production environments
Required Qualifications:
  • 1+ years of professional Software Engineering experience
  • Strong backend engineering skills with Python
  • Experience working at a top-tier startup, Big Tech company, or quant firm preferred
  • Strong computer science fundamentals including systems design, algorithms, and problem-solving
  • Ability to work independently in high-autonomy environments
  • Comfortable operating in fast-paced, high-growth startup settings
