deciBel Research has an immediate opening for a Software Engineer in Melbourne, FL.

Position Description:

deciBel Research is looking for an experienced software development engineer to support operations at Patrick Space Force Base in Melbourne, Florida. In this position, the successful candidate will provide Advisory and Assistance Services (A&AS) to Air Force Technical Applications Center (AFTAC) scientists, engineers, program managers and operators by advancing software-based solutions for mission systems. In this position, the successful candidate will contribute to systems design, performance and security.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Provide technical subject matter expertise to identify and define technical and programmatic requirements and develop software solutions for required new capabilities
  • Perform technical troubleshooting in a local computing and cloud environment
  • Provide recommendations on software platform management, documentation, and control of mission requirements through the agile software development process which includes robust cybersecurity security practices
  • Perform analysis to determine assignable failure, recommend and implement software solutions, assist with testing in-house and third-party software
  • Support acquisition, integration and sustainment of computer systems and software development, testing, and deployment of systems across multiple domains
  • Coordinate with customer to understand and document application requirements suitable for cloud migration efforts
  • Contribute subject matter expertise in software development methodologies and provide technical support for projects supporting mission execution

Education Requirements:

Bachelor's in computer science, Computer Engineering or similar degree.

Experience Requirements:

  • At least 5 years of software engineering experience
  • Experience with native cloud development languages such as Python, Go, Java, and JavaScript
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and GitOps principle
  • Must possess or obtain CompTIA Security+ within 180 days of hire
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills are necessary to coordinate and communicate with executives, external partners, and project stakeholders
  • Proficiency with cloud-native security tools (e.g., AWS CloudTrail, Azure Security Center, GCP Security Command Center) is preferred

Applicant selected must have an active Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility. Must be a U.S. Citizen.
