Job description

Veracode is seeking a motivated Software Engineer In Test who is looking for a challenging, hands-on position that provides the opportunity to excel. The SEIT will be responsible for determining, verifying and improving the quality of the Veracode Static Application Security Analysis product through both manual and automated testing, with a strong emphasis on automation, including both feature and performance testing.
This position requires a team player who is motivated to learn, an excellent communicator and intrigued by complex technical issues. Someone that is full of ideas; someone that does not give up. A generalist that thinks of themselves as a tester. This individual will have the opportunity to have a positive impact on our entire client base.
Responsibilities:
• Write readable, maintainable, high performance automation using in-house Python based infrastructure.
• Focus on maintaining and increasing efficiency of currently developed tools to reduce the testing cycle.
• Provide operational breakfix support to Continuous Integration system
• Work closely with our DevOps engineering teams to develop and execute test plans and test automation, based on current product roadmap priorities.
• Document and share technical information and processes
• Prepare estimates for assigned tasks and complete all work according to schedule and quality requirements
• Provide ongoing feedback on status of deliverables
• Acquire knowledge necessary to perform job assignments (technology, product and process)
Skills & Requirements
• • BS or MS in Computer Science or equivalent
• 3+ years' experience in a QA automation and/or software development role
• Significant real world development experience in Python required.
• Fluent with SQL and proficient in Linux shell scripting.
• Development experience using Flask and/or SQLAlchemy strongly preferred.
• Experience with Buildbot CI system a plus.
• Excellent overall attention to detail, quality and customer satisfaction.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to apply these skills cooperatively in a collaborative, and sometimes distributed, team environment (i.e. Agile).
