Software EngineerAbout the Opportunity

TEKsystems is seeking a highly experienced Software Engineer to support the development of advanced defense technologies related to guidance, navigation, control systems, aircraft, and munitions. This is a hands-on engineering role within a fast-paced, collaborative environment where engineers contribute directly to critical national security initiatives while working across multiple programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain software solutions using C++, C#, Python, and Java
  • Support multiple concurrent engineering efforts and development projects
  • Design, build, and test real-time software systems
  • Participate in rapid prototyping and fast-paced development cycles
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to support system integration
  • Utilize Azure DevOps for CI/CD, software delivery, and project tracking
  • Balance technical leadership responsibilities with hands-on development work
  • Troubleshoot, optimize, and improve mission-critical software applications
  • Contribute to innovative solutions supporting guidance, navigation, and control technologies
Required Qualifications
  • U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain/maintain a security clearance
  • 10-15 years of software engineering experience
  • Strong proficiency in:
    • C++
    • C#
    • Python
    • Java
  • Experience with:
    • Linux operating systems
    • Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS)
    • VxWorks
  • Background supporting defense-related software development
  • Experience with weapons systems, munitions, navigation, GPS, or similar technologies

  • Willingness to work onsite Monday through Friday
