Description:

DiMarco Constructors is seeking a Project Engineer to support field operations and project management teams on commercial construction projects.


Summary:

A construction project engineer manages small groups of subcontractors and assists in the planning, directing and supervision of large construction projects. Construction project engineers operate as part of the overall project management team. They creatively/effectively serve as the liaison on construction projects to make sure the project is safe and runs as smoothly as possible.

Essential Functions:

  • Work directly with the Project Executive, Superintendent, and Project Foreman to ensure the needs of the construction project are effectively meet in a timely fashion.
  • Assist with planning, implementing and manage construction tasks in accordance with scheduled milestones.
  • Assist superintendent with the managing of the subcontractor workforce. This includes but is not limited to daily badging/collecting manpower logs from Subcontractor’s site foreman.
  • Project Engineers assist with reviewing/understanding drawings and designs before being built/installed on the project.
  • Project engineers will learn a basic understanding of contract plans, construction specifications, subcontractor scopes as well as Exhibit 3’s.
  • ·Assist Site Superintendent by completing professionally written correspondence. These include but are not limited to: daily journals, requests for information, potential change requests, non-compliance forms, meeting minutes and emails. CMiC our site management software, is where daily correspondence and all other correspondence will be recorded.
  • Responsible for photographing daily progress which can be taken using OpenSpace. Responsible for completing weekly 360 OpenSpace Captures and uploading all photos and captures into CMiC to comply with the daily requirements.
  • Participates in weekly meetings with Subcontractors, Owners, Architects, Engineers, and DiMarco
  • Provide necessary status updates and assists in responding to questions from clients, subcontractors, and DiMarco leadership regarding schedule/milestones. Up-to-date knowledge or project schedule status and milestones will be required.
  • Support field team in the managing the submittal process. This including but not limited to: collecting samples, product data, shop drawings, mock-up, and technical data from subcontractors that is required by the owner/architect to review for approval.
  • Compliant in OSHA 30 and walk thru jobsite and review and report any non-compliant and unsafe conditions.
  • Responsible for working with the Logistics & Procurement Team on Long-Lead Items to identify potential issues with meeting project milestones/deadlines.
  • Provide support to the field team in completing quality control walks and create/review punch lists per contract requirements and DiMarco standards.
  • Assist project team in maintaining record set of drawings “As-Built”.

  • Ability to navigate entire job site, including stairs or other elevated structures.
  • Proficient knowledge for daily usage of MS Project and MS Office.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Construction degree or equivalent experience considered
  • Microsoft office experience preferred.

Additional Qualifications:

  • Must be able to travel to the jobsite(s) as assigned.
