Job description

Markon is seeking a Software Engineer to support the development and sustainment of mission-critical software systems for the Fort Meade Customer. The Software Engineer will design, develop, integrate, and maintain high-performance applications using C++ and Python, working closely with systems engineers and operations teams to deliver reliable and secure solutions.


  • Design, develop, test, and maintain software applications using C++ and Python.
  • Support integration of software components within larger system architectures.
  • Participate in requirements analysis, design reviews, and technical evaluations.
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve software defects and performance issues.
  • Contribute to software documentation, including design artifacts and technical reports.
  • Collaborate with systems engineering, operations, and mission stakeholders.
  • Support software configuration management and version control processes.
  • Apply secure coding practices and support compliance with security standards.

  • TS/SCI w/ active Polygraph with this Customer
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field plus 14 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong experience developing software in C++ and Python.
  • Experience with object-oriented design, data structures, and algorithms.
  • Familiarity with Linux-based development environments.
  • Experience supporting software development in mission-critical or production environments.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

USD $200,000.00 - USD $230,000.00 /Yr.
