HVAC Project Manager
Overview:
The Project Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing projects from start to finish. This role ensures that projects are completed on time, within budget, and according to specifications. The Project Manager works closely with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure the successful execution of HVAC installations and services.
General Responsibilities:
1. Project Planning & Scheduling:
o Develop and manage project schedules, including key milestones and deadlines.
o Plan all phases of HVAC projects, from initial design and engineering to installation and commissioning.
o Allocate necessary resources, including materials, labor, and equipment.
2. Budgeting & Cost Control:
o Create and monitor project budgets, ensuring expenditures align with financial targets.
o Review and approve costs, estimates, and vendor agreements.
o Implement cost-saving strategies without compromising project quality.
3. Team Coordination & Leadership:
o Supervise and coordinate the activities of field team including general superintendent and foreman, as well as field team, subcontractors, and support staff.
o Ensure that all team members understand their roles and responsibilities within the project.
o Provide leadership to ensure efficient execution of tasks and timely completion of deliverables.
4. Client Communication & Relationship Management:
o Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, addressing concerns and ensuring satisfaction.
o Provide regular updates on project progress, budget status, and schedule changes.
o Foster and maintain positive relationships with clients to support long-term partnerships.
5. Compliance & Quality Assurance:
o Ensure that all HVAC installations comply with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as safety standards.
o Conduct inspections and quality checks to ensure work meets industry standards.
o Work with Strategic Safety team member to address any issues related to performance, safety, or compliance proactively.
6. Risk Management & Problem Solving:
o Identify and mitigate potential risks or project delays.
o Resolve conflicts and challenges that may arise during the project lifecycle.
o Develop contingency plans to address unexpected issues.
7. Project Documentation:
o Maintain accurate records, including contracts, blueprints, reports, and project updates.
o Ensure all project-related documentation is complete and properly archived.
o Manage the final close-out process, ensuring all punch lists and client requests are addressed.
Qualifications:
1. Education:
o Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred.
