RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Champions multiple project teams and their objectives, driving team engagement and execution toward milestone and project success, ensuring alignment with corporate strategy and objectives.
  • Has subject matter expertise across all knowledge areas of project management and uses this expertise to proactively manage difficult projects, fostering team resourcefulness, conflict-resolution, and creativity to solve challenging problems by motivating peers and facilitating effective team environments
  • Develops and utilizes the tools of project management to support key activities including planning, project risk management, communications, execution of the design control process, and financial oversight, and disseminates this knowledge to colleagues.
  • Acts as a project management thought leader, including supporting larger project management program development activities across the broader organization
  • Highly collaborative, both horizontally and vertically, for important decision making, prioritization, stakeholder buy-in, and escalation at appropriate times
  • Seeks and delivers feedback with appropriate candor to enhance team performance
  • Eliminates or minimizes project risks by eliciting key risks and potential solutions from stakeholders on an ongoing basis
  • Communicates project progress and seeks input with executive leadership at project stage gates
  • Understands the financial impacts of projects, return on investment (ROI), cost estimation, and forecasted timelines
  • Mentors and coaches other members of the project management team
  • Junior staff may directly report to this position
  • Other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field

Experience

  • 6+ years of project management in medical device

Certification

  • PMP certification, preferred
