Position Summary: The Consumer Loan Support Specialist is responsible for building and maintaining long-term relationships with customers, understanding their financial needs and partnering to provide lending services and products that fit their needs.
Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
Loan Growth: Monitor and enhance the growth of our consumer loan portfolio, deepening client relationships through product knowledge and excellent customer service. Promote and cross-sell a full range of loan banking products and services including credit cards, CDs, and secured/unsecured loans for vehicles, motorhomes, boats etc.
Client Experience: Take in new consumer loan applications, gather necessary customer information, and accurately enter data into the banking software in a timely manner; to provide exceptional, personalized service. While keeping the client experience in front of mind, proactively addressing and resolving client questions or concerns regarding consumer loan options, requirements, and next steps. Partner with internal resources as needed.
Loan Accuracy: Review all consumer loan applications for completeness and accuracy before moving them forward in the lending process.
Delinquent Loans: Assist with managing delinquent loans under 30 days past due. Minimize loan losses and exceptions through effective documentation, timeliness of renewals, collection efforts, and building/maintaining customer relationships.
Compliance: Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, privacy policies, industry standards, and internal policies and procedures.
Training and Development: Seek learnings and continuous development to enhance consumer product knowledge, compliance requirements, communication skills, and banking products/services that create banker confidence to enhance client experience. Stay up to date on external consumer lending market trends.
Collaboration: Work with internal departments to facilitate seamless client experience. This includes but is not limited to: Retail Operations, Deposit Operations, and Management Team.
Education and Experience:

  1. Bachelor's degree in business administration or a related field, or equivalent working experience preferred
  2. Two (2) or more years of retail banking experience preferred
  3. Consumer non-real-estate lending experience required

Work Environment: Collaborative, trust-based, transparent, supportive, and comfortable community atmosphere. This position may include opportunities to travel across our footprint, working with customers, community members, and our Unity Team.
Regulatory Standards: Financial Institutions must adopt and comply with regulatory requirements. All employees of Unity Bank are required to comply with these standards and practices. Employees will be responsible for participation in training sessions for these regulatory compliance requirements. This will be offered through online sessions, department meetings, bank wide training, and other such media. In addition, compliance training that is specific to job responsibilities will be conducted.
