The Software Engineer position will be responsible for working with cross-functional business teams to research, design, test, and maintain various systems and applications. This role is responsible for providing engineering knowledge and experience, as needed, to deliver solutions to the business both on new builds, as well as support on modifications and maintenance for existing programs.

The ideal candidate will live within driving distance of the Omaha, Nebraska office. This position allows remote flexibility but will have 1 day per week in the office.

What you'll do:

  • Show demonstrated knowledge and experience as needed to maintain and make modifications to existing programs utilized by the business.
  • Work cross-functionally with business teams to research, design, test, and engineer new systems and applications.
  • Demonstrate passion and integrity, with the drive to excel in developing and supporting software systems.
  • Partner with team and department leaders to ensure solutions and applications are stable, secure, and scalable.
  • Collaborate with upper-level roles on architectural decisions to ensure solutions are designed for successful implementation within the vision of the enterprise architecture.
  • Communicate with other teams, stakeholders and leadership to ensure alignment and business confidence in solutions being delivered.
  • Make decisions using available information in a responsible timeframe.
  • Collaborate with Infrastructure to help monitor and performance tune data structures and pipelines for optimal use and best practice.
  • Support defining objectives and company culture.

To be considered for this position you must have:

  • Bachelor's degree and 2-4 years of experience in software development.
  • Experience with Tools/Technologies like Azure, C#/.Net and SQL.
  • Experience maintaining and documenting data storage, user interfaces, & backend systems.
  • Serve on successful implementations of projects.
  • Experience with Continuous Integration (CI), Continuous Delivery (CD) and Secure Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) practices including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
  • Experience in creating and maintaining different authorization and authentication processes.
  • Experience with distributed computing and enterprise-wide systems.
  • Ability to effectively communicate technical concepts across varying audiences.

  • Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment.
  • Desire to think in a creative, lateral way both conceptually and in practical application.
