The Roleย 

ASD โ€“ A Home for Life is seeking a motivated and mission-driven associate to join the ASD Development Department as a Permanent Part-Time Development Associate. Under the supervision of the Chief Development Officer with hands-on experience in nonprofit fundraising, donor engagement, special events, and development operations.

Will play a key role in supporting fundraising initiatives that sustain/grow housing and services for individuals impacted by chronic health conditions. This is an excellent opportunity for a professional wanting to grow within an agency and interested in nonprofit management, philanthropy, communications, and social impact.

Whatย Youโ€™llย Doย 

You will play a key role in sustaining and growing housing and services for individualsย impactedย by HIV. Working across fundraising, events, communications, and community engagement, you will help advance ASDโ€™s mission through relationship-building, research, and strategic donor support.ย 

Fundraising & Donor Engagementย 

  • Conduct prospect research toย identifyย potential individual donors, foundations, and corporate partners.ย 
  • Support donor stewardship through thank-you letters, communications, and briefing materials for donor meetings.ย 
  • Maintain and update the donor database, including gift tracking and record management.ย 
  • Build donor cultivation strategies using data and research to increase support and enhance donor experience.ย 
  • Support implementation of the organizationโ€™s marketing and direct mail campaigns, including deferred giving initiatives.ย 

Event & Campaign Supportย 

  • Assistย with planning and coordination of fundraising events, including invitation management, guest tracking,ย logistics, and volunteer support.ย 
  • Plan small donor cultivation events in partnership with the President/CEO, Communications, Development, and Operations teams.ย 
  • Provide follow-up communications and materials for events and campaigns.ย 

Grant & Research Supportย 

  • Research grant opportunities and foundation prospects.ย 
  • Gather program information and supporting materials toย assistย with grant proposals and reports.ย 

Communications & Impact Storytellingย 

  • Draftย developmentย communications, newsletters, and donor updates.ย 
  • Gather stories and impact data that highlight the organizationโ€™s mission and programs.ย 
  • Manage social media posts and weekly communications.ย 

Community Engagementย 

  • Identifyย opportunities for community partnerships and collaborations.ย 
  • Conduct outreach to foster relationships with local businesses, organizations, and community leaders.ย 

Qualificationsย 

Requiredย 

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Communications, Journalism, Business, or a related field from an accredited institution.ย 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong organizational ability and attention to detail.ย 
  • Proficiencyย in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) or comparable software.ย 
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and work independently.ย 
  • Strong strategic thinking skills with the ability to use data to inform decisions.ย 
  • Collaborative team player with the ability to engage effectively with donors, volunteers, staff, and community members.ย 
  • Valid driverโ€™s license and ability to lift, push, or pull up to 30 pounds.ย 

Preferredย 

  • Experience in nonprofit fundraising, communications, marketing, public relations, or event coordination.ย 
  • Familiarity with donor databases or CRM systems.ย
