As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorganChase within the Consumer and Community Branch workplace technology team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. As a core technical contributor, you are responsible for conducting critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm's business objectives.

Job responsibilities

  • Partners and collaborates with product, architecture, security and operations teams prioritize reliability and embed best practices across the software development lifecycle to improve operations across the Branch Products. 
  • Lead and develop resilient software solutions that improve reliability, scalability and system performance of the Branch Systems. 
  • Leads evaluation sessions with external and internal teams to outcomes-oriented probing of architectural designs, technical credentials, and applicability for use within existing systems and information architecture.
  • Develops secure high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others
  • Leads communities of practice across Software Engineering to drive awareness and use of new and leading-edge technologies

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience. 
  • Full-stack development with Java and the Spring ecosystem to build and maintain scalable applications.
  • Proficiency in multiple modern programming languages/platforms, such as: Java, Spring Boot, Photon, React or TypeScript, SQL, Restful Microservice, AWS,  Kubernetes, and Postgres.
  • Prior experience with Spring Framework, Spring Boot, and Web Services
  • Recent experience with a cloud platform (such as Pivotal Cloud Foundry/AWS) or container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
  • Experience leading technology projects and managing technologists
  • Ability to design and architect new applications utilizing leading edge technologies
  • Expertise in application, data and infrastructure architecture disciplines
  • Proficient in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle

 Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Demonstrated proficiency in software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g.,  artificial intelligence, machine learning)
  • AWS Certifications (e.g.  Solutions Architect Associate)
  • Enterprise-scale AWS expertise designing and operating secure, highly available, multi-account environments (Organizations, Control Tower), leveraging IaC (CloudFormation/Terraform), VPC networking (Transit Gateway), identity and encryption (IAM, KMS), observability (CloudWatch)
  • Knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systems
