The Ohio Department of Taxation is seeking one (1) Software Development Specialist 1 in the Information Technology Application Development Division.ย 

What You'll do as a Software Development Specialist 1:
Develop and modify program modules using technologies such as C# .NET and SQL.
Write and execute unit/system test cases; debug and revise programs to ensure desired results.
Assist in gathering requirements, documenting business process flows, and developing software solutions to business problems.
Provide post production support, including maintenance, enhancements, and troubleshooting.
Create and maintain technical documentation, user guides, and training materials.
Collaborate with peers and stakeholders to exchange technical information and lead focused discussions.
Support user acceptance testing, source control, and deployment activities.
Promote system security by adhering to agency and state IT policies.
Continuously learn new skills through training, seminars, and self directed study.


Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with software development tools, debugging, and version control.
Knowledge of databases and web development.
Strong problem solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
