Job description

Eaton's division is currently seeking a Software & System Integration (SSI) Test Engineer Specialist.
The expected annual salary range for this role is $112,500 - $165,000 a year.

What you'll do:
Job Description:
Own the process of test design, test development, test framework and test execution of embedded firmware and software for Industrial Control Division's next generation of industry leading products and loT applications. Work with primary products related to advanced motor protection, communications, reduced voltage starting and variable frequency drives for industrial applications; leveraging embedded micro-controllers and digital signal processors in a real time operating system environment. Work within a firmware center of excellence together with other team members driving new product and process development while leveraging modern toolchains. Collaborate and work with lab personnel to develop tests and perform testing to validate proper product functionality. Contribute to Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) process improvements and accountability with a focus on quality and productivity. Drive functional excellence and accelerate the development cycle while reducing the cost to develop and maintain products. Responsible for maintaining firmware Key Process Indicators (KPI) tracking and reporting for team and contribute to technical roadmaps and commercial roadmaps, disclosures, and other innovation.
Qualifications:
Requires a Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, or a directly related field plus six (6) years of experience in test engineering.
Three (3) years of experience in the following (experience may be gained concurrently):
  • Test leadership experience, including organizing and delegating work on agile environment.
  • Developing test cases from functional product requirements as well as detailed design requirements.
  • Micro-processors, controllers and embedded operating systems.
  • Engineering practices, processes, and related tools, including requirements traceability, bug tracking, version control, test driven development, simulation, and continuous integration.
  • Developing custom automation solutions.
  • HiL (Hardware in the Loop) based automated testing.
  • Interfacing with Rockwell or Siemens.
  • Ethernet based communication protocols: Profinet, Ethernet IP and Modbus TCP.

Two (2) years of experience in the following (experience may be gained concurrently):
  • Automated test development.
  • Python and C/C++.
  • Experience applying the IEC 62443 series of industrial control system security standards.

40 hours/week, 8:00am-5:00pm
