Job Description
Kavaliro is seeking a Software Developer for our client to join an experienced engineering team supporting the development, modernization, and long-term sustainment of mission-critical applications within the Intelligence Community. This role is well suited for a mid- to senior-level developer who enjoys tackling complex technical problems and can work comfortably across both modernized platforms and established legacy systems.
The ideal candidate will bring strong Java and C++ development experience, a collaborative mindset, and the ability to adapt to evolving technical requirements in a mission-focused environment.
Pay: $130,000.00 - 140,000.00 per year
What You'll Do
  • Work as part of a small, highly experienced engineering team supporting application sustainment, new feature development, and modernization initiatives
  • Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain mission-critical software applications
  • Develop core application functionality used by geographically distributed customers across the Intelligence Community
  • Support the ongoing enhancement and modernization of existing software and services
  • Troubleshoot technical issues and help provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 support to users and customers
  • Design, maintain, and improve CI/CD pipelines to support consistent and reliable software releases
  • Analyze existing applications, dependencies, and technical architecture to implement enhancements with minimal impact to ongoing operations
  • Collaborate with other developers and engineers to improve application performance, reliability, scalability, and maintainability
Required Qualifications
  • 2+ years of professional experience developing, deploying, and supporting production software
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline
  • Strong hands-on development experience with Java and C++
  • Python development experience is preferred
  • Experience building, deploying, and maintaining production-grade software systems
  • Proficiency working in Linux/Unix environments, preferably Rocky Linux, RHEL, or similar
  • Experience with Git and modern version-control practices
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, communication, and collaboration skills
  • Active TS security clearance required; TS/SCI is preferred

  • Understanding of security controls, compliance requirements, and their impact on software development and deployment
