Job Description:

Job Summary
The Field Engineer Trainee (EIT) will receive hands-on training around the hydraulic fracturing (HF) wellsite, develop the knowledge and skills necessary to be successful as a Field Engineer, and prepare for a transition into the Remote Operations Center (ROC).
Responsibilities

  • Learn how to operate equipment and develop working knowledge of operations at a HF wellsite

  • Work with the Field Engineers to assist with pre-job planning

  • Decipher and utilize the reports that Operations relies on during each job (i.e., treatment reports, material trackers, pump schedules, etc.)

  • Develop skills needed for technical interpretation of wellsite treatment and chemical plots

  • Work in the lab learning tests that occur prior to each job (i.e., water analysis, flow loops, acid titration, break tests, etc.)

  • Learn creation and operation of the fluid systems for slick water, linear, and crosslink systems

  • Work under the guidance of the ROC Engineers to develop an understanding of ROC roles and responsibilities

  • Upon completion of a job, work alongside the ROC Engineers to learn preparation of wellsite post-job reports and debriefings for presentation to customers and other involved parties

  • Maintain compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies by attending all required HSE safety training sessions, safety meetings, and always utilize proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, required (Petroleum or Mechanical Engineering discipline, preferred)

  • Willing to be assertive and speak up about unsafe work practices

  • Must be a critical thinker who is adept at learning new skills and able to problem solve proactively and reactively

  • Able to keep an organized computer workspace, maintain proper digital record keeping, and understand how to name files for quick access and sharing

  • Must be a team player who exhibits a personal commitment to learning and self-improvement

  • Good written and verbal communication skills, able to effectively interact with supervisors and personnel at all levels of the organization

  • Proficient working in Microsoft Office 365 applications and able to quickly learn other work related software
