Position Salary Range:
$68,000 - $75,000 per year; DOE
Job Description:
The qualified candidate for this position will take direction from Business and Finance IT leadership and, in close collaboration with other BFIT developers, apply his or her considerable skill in various programming languages and practices to meet the needs of Business and Finance in order to provide essential online resources to the university community.
Essential Duties:
  • Develop and maintain web applications using a variety of programming languages and technologies.
  • Design SQL database schemas and schema migrations.
  • Collaborate closely with other Business and Finance IT developers and analysts to achieve goals.
  • Design and develop automated testing of web applications.
  • Document system architecture and solutions.
  • Provide expert advice, troubleshooting, and other support to users of BFIT web applications.
  • Evaluate, recommend, and deploy technological solutions to new problems or situations.
  • Communicate with vendors of third-party applications managed by BFIT.

Desired Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and experience with C# and ASP.NET technologies is required.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and experience with CSS, JavaScript, and HTML5, including working on sites with mobile-responsive design, is required.
  • Demonstrated knowledge writing SQL statements and managing database schemas is required.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of web application best practices related to usability and accessibility is required.
  • Understanding of Git version control and GitHub, including the creation and maintenance of GitHub Actions CI/CD jobs, is highly preferred.
  • Understanding of Bootstrap is preferred.
  • Understanding of React is preferred.
  • Understanding of JIRA and Confluence is preferred.
  • Experience working in an office environment is preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
  • Clearly communicate to perform essential duties.

Working Environment:
  • Activities are primarily performed in a regular, climate-controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting, standing, walking.
  • Use office equipment including a desktop computer. Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation is required.
  • Occasional lift up to 20 pounds.
  • This position operates under a hybrid work arrangement, with a portion of the regular workweek at the primary ASU work location.
