Pay Range: $17.84 to $24.96
Shift: Daytime
Actual pay will be based on various factors, such as a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies, proficiency for the role, and internal equity. In addition to base pay, Kwik Trip gives 40% of pre-tax profits back to our coworkers with bonuses ranging from 8-12% of each coworker's gross annual wage depending on company profitability and offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, 401k, paid time off, and more.

Kwik Trip Inc. Information Technology Department is seeking a Network Engineering Intern. The selected person's primary responsibility is to assist the Network Engineering Team with daily infrastructure support, configuration and set up of network equipment, and completion of task requests.
Regular tasks include:
  • Configure, test, and prep routers, switches and wireless access points for local and wide area network deployment.
  • Assist with troubleshooting repair incidents.
  • Assist with equipment life cycle management.
  • Add items to the network monitoring software.
  • Assist with implementation of Network Infrastructure projects.
  • Work with software and hardware-based solutions used for network analysis and security.
  • Assist with records keeping and documentation.

Qualifications:
  • Basic Understanding of Networking Concepts: Knowledge of fundamental networking concepts such as IP addressing, subnetting, and the OSI model.
  • Familiarity with Network Devices: Basic understanding of network devices like routers, switches, and firewalls.
  • Network Configuration and Troubleshooting: Ability to perform basic network configurations and troubleshoot common network issues.
  • Understanding of Protocols: Familiarity with networking protocols such as TCP/IP, DHCP, and DNS.
  • Wireless Networking: Basic knowledge of wireless networking concepts and standards (e.g., Wi-Fi).
  • Network Security Basics: Awareness of basic network security principles and practices, including firewalls, encryption, and secure communication protocols.
  • Network Monitoring Tools: Experience or familiarity with network monitoring and diagnostic tools (e.g.,Ping, Traceroute).
  • Team Collaboration: Strong communication skills to work effectively within a team and assist with network-related tasks.
  • Willingness to Learn: Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies and networking concepts.

Work Schedule: This is a paid internship lasting for approximately six months, with the possibility of being extended. Interested candidates must be willing to work 15-25 hours per week. Work hours will be Monday through Friday, daytime hours.
Note: Applicants must be currently attending school for Data Networking or a related field.
