Job Description
The Lead Facilities Specialist develops practical and innovative ways to identify and meet goals. In this role you will be responsible for work that is less defined in scope, utilize your understanding and experience to execute business objectives, and have the ability to effect short-term and some long-term business goals.
Responsibilities
  • Plan projects for facility improvements from concept to completion
  • Create and implement an effective preventative maintenance program and ensures that all compliance standards are maintained and regulatory maintenance is executed
  • Forecast budget for the Facilities department and monitor throughout the year
  • Supervise a team of hourly maintenance technicians spread across 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shifts
  • Coordinate facilities initiatives with Operations team to support production
  • Ensure that equipment and services purchased are acceptable quality and cost effective
  • Develop and coordinate department proposals for facilities projects
  • Be on call for all facilities related emergencies
  • Ensure that all compliance standards are maintained and regulatory maintenance is executed
  • Negotiate, maintain, and review contracts for all third party contractors, cleaners, waste removal, vending, recycling, security provider, etc.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to controls technicians for out-of-the-ordinary electronics problems -Work with cross functional team to perform machine modifications, make control logic changes, and provide updated training and documentation as required
  • Work directly with Lead Maintenance Specialist and fill-in or replace during absences

Required Minimum Qualifications
  • Associate's degree or a high school diploma/GED from an accredited school or institution

GE Desired Characteristics
  • At least 4 years of experience in an HVAC or other Facilities Maintenance position within a manufacturing or shop environment)
  • At least 5 additional years of experience in electro-hydraulic machinery, major machine run-offs / installations, and maintenance repairs
  • Proficiency with control software and PLC's
  • Software Programming
  • Strong knowledge of Environmental, Health & Safety policy and procedure
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to bring assignments to a successful completion
  • Six Sigma training is preferred
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
