Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced
Senior Snowflake Software Developer to design, develop, and optimize Snowflake-based data solutions for enterprise-level applications. This is a hybrid contract opportunity requiring candidates to work onsite in
Trenton, NJ 08625, three days per week. Candidates must be able to work onsite from day one.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain Snowflake data schemas, data models, and data lake architectures.
- Develop efficient, automated ELT pipelines to ingest data from diverse enterprise data sources into Snowflake.
- Build scalable data transformation pipelines using dbt (Data Build Tool) and native Snowflake features such as Tasks and Streams.
- Develop custom data engineering scripts, automation pipelines, and user-defined functions (UDFs) using Python and Snowpark.
- Optimize query performance, virtual warehouse sizing, and clustering strategies.
- Monitor and optimize Snowflake performance, resource utilization, and overall platform efficiency.
- Write advanced SQL queries, analytical functions, and stored procedures.
- Implement enterprise data security and governance, including Role-Based Access Control (RBAC), masking policies, and encryption.
- Develop automated data quality validation frameworks, monitoring solutions, and observability dashboards.
- Manage database infrastructure and dbt models using Git and automated CI/CD deployment pipelines.
- Implement disaster recovery strategies utilizing Snowflake Replication, Failover Groups, and Time Travel.
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering, analytics, and data teams in an Agile/Scrum environment.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 7+ years of experience in data warehousing, data modeling, and enterprise data engineering.
- 3+ years of hands-on production experience with Snowflake.
- Strong proficiency in Python for data engineering, including hands-on experience with Snowpark.
- Proven experience building data transformation pipelines using dbt (Data Build Tool).
- Experience optimizing Snowflake performance, infrastructure, and cost management.
- Strong understanding of enterprise data security, governance, and Role-Based Access Control (RBAC).
- Experience managing infrastructure as code using Git and automated CI/CD deployment pipelines.
- Advanced SQL development skills, including complex queries, analytical functions, and stored procedures.
- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Snowflake certification (SnowPro Core or Advanced).
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments.
Work Environment
- Hybrid work schedule with onsite presence required three days per week.
- Work location: Trenton, NJ 08625.
- Candidates must be available to work onsite from the first day of the assignment.
