Work Shift:

First Shift (United States of America)

Job Description:

Work with Manufacturing Engineer to develop, evaluate and improve manufacturing methods. Utilizing knowledge of product design, materials and parts and fabrication processes, design, document and create production aids, jigs and fixtures. Gain knowledge of tooling and production equipment and their capabilities, then assist with maintenance, upgrades or replacement needs. Develop familiarity with assembly methods, lean manufacturing and quality control standards to assist with improvements in assembly areas. Work alongside engineering staff to capture production data, first pass yield, timing and safety results, to implement tools of continuous improvement.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Analyze and plan work force utilization, space requirements, workflow, and designs layout of equipment for maximum efficiency
  • Develop and implement recommendations for tool redesign changes of materials, methods, etc.
  • Research manufacturing trends, new technology and recommends improvements
  • Investigate manufacturing problems and recommends solutions
  • Facilitate Lean Manufacturing initiatives in all manufacturing facilities, participate in continuous improvement projects
  • Investigate and prepare requests for capital improvements
  • Review Health, Safety and Environmental
  • Perform various projects as assigned

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Enrollment as Engineering or Engineering Technology student
  • Strong organizational, analytical and interpersonal skills
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent command of Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, CAD (Solidworks and/or AutoCAD) and other computer programs
  • Ability to independently move about factory and lift up to 50 pounds

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Occasional lifting up to 25 lbs.
  • Sitting, working at desk/personal computer for extended periods of time
  • Primary work environment is professional corporate office

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. At Gorbel, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.

A reasonable estimate of the current range is: $23.00 to $25.00 per hour
