Job Description:

L3Harris is seeking a software engineer with a passion for cyber security. In this role, the selected candidate will design, develop, integrate, and maintain software applications that implement defensive cyber security capabilities. This includes supporting technologies and mechanisms such as multi-factor authentication, audit review, endpoint protection, encryption, vulnerability analysis, and security management.

The candidate will work closely with software developers, systems engineers, and commercial product vendors to design and evaluate secure systems, networks, and database solutions. This role is responsible for integrating multiple cyber security methods into a cohesive system security architecture and environment, while supporting the policies and procedures required to monitor and maintain that environment.

Essential Functions:

  • Design, develop, integrate, test, and maintain software applications that support defensive cyber security capabilities.
  • Be able to install, configure, use, and troubleshoot industry standard tools and technologies such as Splunk, Elastic, Tenable, NetApp Ontap Storage, Windows Active Directory, Redhat Linux Enterprise Server & Workstation, OpenShift, Kubernetes.ย 
  • Proficient in a variety of scripting frameworks such as YAML, Java, python, Ansible, bash, SQL, powershell.
  • Proficient in CI/CD tools such as GitLab Enterprise with excellent software configuration management skills.
  • Collaborate with systems developers, software engineers, and commercial vendors in the evaluation and integration of secure products and technologies.
  • Support the design and assessment of secure systems, networks, and database products.
  • Integrate multiple cyber security controls into a unified and effective security architecture.
  • Active DoW Top Secret/SCI clearance with ability to obtain.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelorโ€™s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant cyber/software engineer experience.
  • Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related cyber/software engineer experience experience.
  • In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior cyber/software engineer experience experience.
  • Demonstrated experience with software applications that support defensive cyber security capabilities.
  • Demonstrated experience with installing, configuring, using, and troubleshooting industry standard tools and technologies such as Splunk, Elastic, Tenable, NetApp Ontap Storage, Windows Active Directory, Redhat Linux Enterprise Server & Workstation, OpenShift, Kubernetes or simlar systems.
  • Demonstrated experience in a variety of scripting frameworks such as YAML, Java, Python, Ansible, Bash, SQL, powershell.
  • Demonstrated experience in CI/CD tools such as GitLab Enterprise with excellent software configuration management skills.

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Experience assessing security and privacy controls in embedded systems using NIST 800-53.
  • Prior leadership experience with Agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum Master, Product Owner).
  • Experience with systems engineering standards and best practices.
  • Password management (Keepass, Ansible vaults, Kubernetes secret storage), SAST/DAST, container scanning.ย 
  • Experience in Risk Management Framework (RMF) accreditation and authorization (A&A) processes to include RMF steps 1-4 (categorization, controls selection, control implementation, security assessment) and standard body of evidence (BoE) package development.ย
