Job description

SUMMARY:

Responsibilities include analyze and understand simulation software discrepancies and change requirements, develop conceptual solutions, design, code, implement and testing these solutions. Understand and modify software for training devices and other similar applications that satisfy specified operational, performance, and interface requirements. Responsible for these simulation software tasks within the constraints of fidelity, quality, cost, and schedule.

Further responsibilities include risk identification and management, communicating with coworkers and management at every phase of the design process, and presenting design ideas, solutions, and status.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

โ€ข Participate in analyses of problem reports, defining requirements for corrections, preliminary design, and detail design that complies with project requirements.

โ€ข End products will consist of proposed solutions to software problems or discrepancies, reports, specifications, design documents, source code, and test specifications as required for the subject project.

โ€ข Participate in development, integration, acceptance and delivery of modifications to the simulator as necessary.

โ€ข Understand and implement software baseline configuration management processes and procedures.

โ€ข Prepares plans, schedules, and briefings as required.

โ€ข Analyze information and determine the impact of proposed changes.

โ€ข Plan and prepare technical reports, design specifications, test specifications, CDRLs, and test procedures as required.

โ€ข Write and implement test plans and test reports.

โ€ข Interface with CymSTARโ€™s Program Manager, Site Lead, Software, Electrical, Mechanical, Manufacturing, Maintenance, and Instructor personnel as necessary to accomplish development, design and production of the project within trainer availability constraints.

โ€ข Analyze trainer deficiencies, determine the cause, and apply iterative systems engineering processes to resolve the problem.

โ€ข Perform engineering analyses to investigate and recommend solutions for maintenance write-ups or test discrepancies.

โ€ข Perform systems engineering requirements for front-end analysis, training situation analysis, design, development, production, fielding, modification, and sustainment IAW the Systems Engineering Management Plan

โ€ข Perform other related tasks assigned by supervisor.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

Bachelorโ€™s Degree (B.S.) in engineering, computer science, physics, or equivalent; 4 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Background must demonstrate a thorough knowledge of the sciences underlying software engineering. C# experience, GIT experience, and changes to RHEL/Unix experience is a plus.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common professional literature. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to effectively present information to management, and colleagues. Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to comprehend and apply principles of modern algebra, basic trigonometry, Boolean algebra, calculus, ratios, and percentages.".

COMPUTER SKILLS:

Solid Technology skills including proficiency with software configuration management (CM) and development tools and Microsoft Office applications are essential. Experienced and proficient in the use of standard personal computer software tools; including word processors, spreadsheets, presentation graphics and databases.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

CITIZENSHIP:

U.S. Citizenship. Must be able to obtain a Secret Level Clearance
