Job description

RGNext employees execute and report on theater and strategic offensive and defensive ballistic missile testing and support space situational awareness operations and experiments, using a wide array of highly sophisticated radar, telemetry and optical sensors to meet the needs of the Department of Defense in defending the United States and its interests. Our team delivers invaluable defensive support to our nation, efficiency and essential national space awareness expertise to ensure our nation’s safety.


This overseas position is located on Kwajalein Atoll in the Marshall Islands. It is an unaccompanied position (no family accommodation or pets). Benefits of this unique location include free housing, three meals a day and potential for overseas tax incentives.


What You Will Do:
  • Tackle a variety of challenges including software, configuration, operations, maintenance and project tasks.
  • Work primarily with software and systems on the land and sea-based Flight Safety systems. Systems include processing and display computers, networks, telemetry, communications, and transmitters.
  • Develop and maintain the software and mission configurations used in operations.
  • Operate, configure, troubleshoot, and document the land and ship systems for rocket and missile flight safety support at the small tropical islands of Kwajalein and Roi Namur and on a ship. This includes post-mission analysis and documentation.
  • Design and implement software projects for the Flight Safety System, Simulators, and other software utilities.
  • Duties include fault detection, fault isolation, reporting, repair, testing and documentation.
  • Other activities include ensuring the systems remain cyber compliant in accordance with RMF accreditation requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Skills Needed:
  • Ability to follow and establish configuration management processes.
  • Strong mathematical skills.
  • Able to provide project planning and estimates.
  • Independently motivated to define and pursue projects to completion.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers and upper management, including presentation skills.
  • Collaborate effectively as part of a group and work independently with minimal supervision as dictated by the situation.
  • Effectively prioritize and juggle multiple concurrent projects


Qualifications You Must Have:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Software or Systems Engineering or a related STEM discipline.
  • Two (2) or more years work experience in Engineering or related disciplines.
  • Experience with creating Systems and Software documentation for Requirements, Design, and Testing
  • Front end design or application development experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the following: software engineering, systems engineering, configuration management and networks.
  • Knowledge of software configuration management (Git, CVS, Subversion).
  • A history of developing using Visual Studio, C++, C#, Perl, CSS, or XML.
  • Proficient in Unit Testing using a testing framework such as Boost.
  • Knowledge of both Windows and Linux operating systems.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance which requires US citizenship.
  • Must be able to obtain or maintain a U.S. Passport.
  • Must be able to relocate to the United States Army Kwajalein Atoll, Marshall Islands.
  • Ability to work on a ship and go to sea.
  • The flexibility to work occasional non-duty hours or on weekends to support specific project or mission requirements.


Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Experience with systems and/or software engineering best practices, e.g. unit testing, code reviews, design documentation, configuration control.
  • Experience with all phases of application lifecycle development including requirements, design, implementation, and verification.
  • Experience with Telemetry decommutation.
  • Experience with programming MatLab.
  • PMP, CAPM, or PMI-SP certified.
  • Security +, CISSP, CEH.
  • Proficiency in managing Jira and Microsoft Teams.
  • Familiarity with electronics, RF, or other technical field.
