JOB TITLE: SECRETARY III Human Resources

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. High School Diploma or GED.
  2. Demonstrated proficiency in use of computer software.
  3. Use of computer-based routing software preferred.
  4. Experience in filing and record-keeping.
  5. Competence in the use of business equipment.
  6. Effective telephone skills.
  7. Knowledge of the rules and regulations governing Human Resources activities and functions.
  8. Experience in responding to human resources programs and procedures.
  9. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board of Education may find appropriate and acceptable.

REPORTS TO: Chief Human Resources Officer

JOB GOALS:

To assist in insuring maximum effectiveness in the operation of the offices of the Human Resources Department

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Expected work day: Eight hours.
  2. Regular and punctual attendance required.
  3. Operate telephone for incoming, outgoing, and interoffice calls .
  4. Meet and assist visitors in a helpful, courteous, and professional manner.
  5. Assist with the preparation of purchase orders as assigned.
  6. Maintain the confidentiality of any school system related information and
  7. sensitive employee information.
  8. Perform duties in a manner that promotes good public relations.
  9. Provide clerical support for department staff as requested.
  10. Possess skills necessary to perform tasks assigned.
  11. Use copy machine and other business equipment.
  12. File alphabetic, subject, numeric, and geographic as assigned.
  13. Compile and type statistical and written reports as requested.
  14. Compose and type letters of transmittal and routine letters of transmittal
  15. and routine letters of inquiry, requests, and information as requested.
  16. Type from straight copy/rough draft and enter data.
  17. Meet and assist visitors in a helpful, courteous, and professional manner.
  18. Maintain equipment and assist with inventory as requested.
  19. Maintain proper and professional relationship with other employees.
  20. Follow Board policies.
  21. Possess visual acuity.
  22. Possess physical capability to stand, bend, and lift up to 25 pounds.
  23. Possess physical and emotional ability and dexterity as needed to perform
  24. required work in a fast-paced, high intensive work environment.
  25. Use computer-based routing software.
  26. Assist in maintaining employee records and compiling reports for database as needed.

MARGINAL FUNCTION: Any reasonable office related tasks assigned by supervisors.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 12-months/240 days

EVALUATION:

Performance will be evaluated in accordance with the support personnel evaluation system and Board policy.

SALARY: Appropriate placement on current salary schedule.
