Job description

The position requires a thorough knowledge of the hospitality and lodging industry and working knowledge of general ledger, accounts payable and accounts receivables. This position is responsible for the preparation and compiling of the financial information for several hotels in our growing portfolio, working directly with property level management to ensure accuracy and analyze information to provide operations management with sound financial and statistical information.
Education
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting required.

  • Knowledge in the Uniform System of Accounts for Hospitality.

Professional Experience
  • 3-5 years of experience in accounting, preferably with Hospitality, real estate, public accounting.

  • State & Local Lodging, Sales & Consumer tax preparation and filing.

Computer Skills
Proficiency in:
  • M3 Acknowledge accounting system is preferred.

  • PMS, POS & Accounting Software

  • Microsoft Office, Data entry & Database management systems.

Duties and Functions
  • Manage Daily Income Journal Posting between PMS and Accounting Software.

  • Manger and update Daily Detail Report (Income related GL) and its GL Mapping

  • Manage Automated GL Mapping between POS, PMS & Accounting Software

  • Assist hotel GM with PMS Guest Ledger, City Ledger, and Advance Purchase Ledger.

  • Manage and update night audit process as needed.

  • Manage and record all payroll related GL entries.

  • Manage and record all prepaid, accrued, and similar non-cash expenses on monthly bases.

  • Supervise and assist with Bank Reconciliation, Cash Management Entries and other treasury related items.

  • Perform Revenue, Sales & Lodging Tax posting related audits at hotel.

  • Ensure Tax Exempt compliance with local and state law at property level.

  • Prepare, reconcile, and submit trail balance in format acceptable to CPA/ Tax Preparer to file returns.

  • Post adjustment to accounting software based on CPA filing each tax year.

  • Ability to travel 10% of the time.
