Description

About Sun Title

Sun Title Agency of Michigan is a people-first title insurance company operating across 11 Michigan markets with 100 employees. We are the "YES" company - when others hit roadblocks, we find solutions. We advocate for our people and treat every client interaction as an opportunity to demonstrate that we genuinely care.

We are not looking for someone who simply processes paperwork. We are looking for someone who takes pride in getting the details right, protecting clients through one of the most significant financial transactions of their lives, and contributing to a team that consistently exceeds expectations. If you measure your success by the quality of your work product and the experience you deliver to those around you, this role was built for you.

The Role

The Commercial Escrow Processor / Post Closing Specialist supports our Commercial Department by managing the document processing and post-closing functions that keep real estate transactions moving accurately and on time. You will work directly with our Commercial Escrow Officers and interact with clients, lenders, attorneys, and other transaction parties on a daily basis.

This is an entry-level role with a genuine, direct pathway to becoming a Commercial Escrow Officer. We will invest in your development. We ask in return that you bring exceptional attention to detail, a willingness to learn, and the professionalism to represent Sun Title well on every transaction.

What You'll Do

Transaction Review - Review purchase agreements and real estate documents, enter key details into SoftPro Select, and identify potential title issues requiring resolution.

Document Preparation - Prepare closing documents - deeds, discharges, powers of attorney - with meticulous accuracy on every file.

Funds Management - Process wire transfers, earnest money deposits, and post-closing disbursements; verify funds using CertifID.

Quality Assurance - Confirm all post-closing procedures are complete, documents are correctly recorded, and closing packages are distributed to all appropriate parties.

Client & Co-Worker Communication - Coordinate with Escrow Officers, lenders, attorneys, and other transaction parties in a professional and precise manner throughout each file.

Software Utilization - Work daily in ResWare, SoftPro Select, and Microsoft Office 365 to manage files, documentation, and communication.

Teamwork - Support the Commercial Department Manager and Escrow Officers, participate in company initiatives, and contribute to a high-performing team.

What We're Looking For

Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills with strong attention to detail

Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook)

High school diploma or GED required; higher education degree in accounting, business administration, or equivalent experience preferred

Two or more years of related office experience preferred; title, real estate, banking, or mortgage industry knowledge is a plus

Basic proficiency in title industry software (ResWare, SoftPro Select) preferred

Valid Notary Public commission required within 30 days of hire

Valid Title Producer's License, as required by Michigan law, required within one year of hire

Valid driver's license required

Why Sun Title?

People-First Culture - Be part of a team where genuine care for colleagues and clients is the standard, not the exception.

YES! Company - We find solutions. Your ideas and initiative are welcomed here.

Professional Development - Gain hands-on experience in commercial real estate title with direct mentorship from experienced Escrow Officers.

Clear Career Pathway - This role is a direct pathway to becoming a Commercial Escrow Officer.

Comprehensive Benefits - Medical (Priority Health), Dental (Delta Dental), Vision (EyeMed), HSA with employer match, 401(k) with employer match, employer-paid disability and life insurance, paid vacation, paid holidays, and an Employee Assistance Program.

Note: This entry-level role offers a genuine opportunity to build expertise in commercial real estate title and is a direct pathway to the Commercial Escrow Officer position.
