Job Description

As a dynamic organization, JCPRD keeps pace with developing trends to provide exceptional services and experiences. All games played at the newly renovated Mid America Sports Complex on synthetic turf fields.
Johnson County Parks & Recreation District (JCPRD) is looking for a personable and dependable applicant to join our team as a Softball Official at the Mid-America Sports Complex.
โ€ข Work hours are available Sunday - Thursday, 4 - 20 hours per week with a flexible work schedule.
โ€ข Earn $27.00 per game (55-minute games).
โ€ข We facilitate Men's Rec, Competitive, Co-Ed Rec and Co-Ed Competitive.
โ€ข We supply umpire shirts.
โ€ข We are looking for individuals who have communication skills, can do conflict resolution while remaining calm, and make decisions in sometime high-pressure situations.
โ€ข We will train qualified candidates.

Job Requirements
  • Minimum age is 18 years and older.
  • Working knowledge of the game of Softball or willing to learn.
  • Evening availability (Sunday - Thursday)
  • Good communication skills - must be personable yet comfortable having authority.
  • Must be reliable and punctual.
  • Previous officiating or playing experience preferred but not required.

Job Overview:
  • Arrive early to athletic venue (15 minutes before game time).
  • Officiate games to ensure that game rules are observed.
  • Record scores.
  • Provide the best environment and experience possible for all our patrons.
  • Proudly represent JCPRD as a highly visible and accessible member of our team.
