Soft Tech Consulting is seeking a highly motivated, self-directed individual to fill the role of a Web Application Developer (Mid) for one of our government clients.  The designated candidate for this position will join a collaborative team environment, providing support and expertise necessary toward the successful delivery of the project deliverables, and provide effective communication to all levels of staff for reporting status/progress.


  • Build responsive, accessible UI components and pages using React, HTML5, CSS3, and modern JavaScript.
  • Work closely with designers to bring UI/UX wireframes to life and ensure a consistent, elegant user experience.
  • Integrate front-end features with AWS services and secure APIs.
  • Use Material Design / MaterialUI to create cohesive, polished interfaces.
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams in an Agile/Scrum environment.
  • Write clean, testable code and contribute to unit, integration, and E2E testing.
  • Manage code and support deployments through Git, Azure DevOps, and Jenkins.
  • Participate in design reviews, sprint planning, standups, and retros.
  • Troubleshoot frontend issues, improve site performance, and ensure accessibility compliance.
  • Maintain project documentation and support continuous improvement of standards and best practices.

Required Experience

  • 5+ years of experience in web or software development.
  • 2+ years of experience in the past 6 years in one of the following fields of expertise, AWS Cloud based solutions, C#, Java, Python (preference Python).
  • Advanced React experience, with strong UI development skills.
  • Proven experience building andmaintainingfrontend features in production.
  • Strong skills with HTML5, CSS3, Bootstrap, and modern JavaScript/TypeScript.
  • Experience integrating applications with AWS and using Material Design principles.
  • Comfortable working in Agile/Scrum environments.
  • Proficiencywith Git, Azure DevOps, and/or Jenkins CI/CD pipelines.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively, both verbal and written.
  • Must be able to work independently, with minimal oversight.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Experience with MaterialUI or similar component libraries.
  • Hands-on experiences testing frameworks (Jest, React Testing Library, Cypress).
  • Familiarity with Docker or containerized application delivery.
  • Experience optimizing React apps for performance and scalability.
  • Prior experience supporting government or regulated environments.
  • Knowledge of Section 508 / WCAG accessibility standards.
