What is a social worker EAP?

Social Worker EAPs (Employee Assistance Program social workers) are professionals who provide support, counseling, and resources to employees dealing with personal or work-related issues. They help employees manage stress, mental health concerns, substance abuse, family problems, and other challenges that may affect their work performance. Social Worker EAPs often conduct assessments, offer short-term counseling, and refer employees to specialized services when needed. Their goal is to improve employee well-being and maintain a healthy, productive workplace.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a social worker in an Employee Assistance Program (EAP)?
