Director of Social & Brand Content
PopStroke | Dallas / Plano, TX
PopStroke is seeking a Director of Social Media to own our social media strategy, audience growth, content creation, and digital community engagement across all platforms.
This role will lead how PopStroke shows up online, build passionate fan communities, create content people actually want to engage with, and drive measurable business results through social media. The ideal candidate understands that success is not measured solely by followers, but by engagement, audience participation, memberships, event attendance, guest visits, and brand advocacy.
We are looking for a player-coach who can both create exceptional content and strategically grow an audience. This person will think like the owner of a media business, treating each social channel as a growth engine for the PopStroke brand.
This role requires creativity, analytical thinking, flexibility, and a passion for staying ahead of culture, trends, and platform evolution.
Reports To: Matt Corey, Chief Growth Officer
Location: Dallas / Plano, TX (In Office)
Core Responsibilities
Own Social Strategy & Audience Growth
• Develop and execute platform-specific growth strategies across TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, LinkedIn, and emerging platforms.
• Build highly engaged social communities that increase brand awareness, guest loyalty, and advocacy.
• Grow engagement, reach, shares, comments, saves, and community participation; not just followers.
• Establish annual, quarterly, and monthly growth objectives for each platform.
Lead Social Content Creation & Production
• Personally create, edit, and publish high-quality social-first content.
• Produce engaging short-form video, photography, graphics, and storytelling content.
• Develop content calendars that balance planned campaigns with real-time opportunities.
• Continuously test new content formats and storytelling approaches.
Stay Ahead of Trends & Culture
• Monitor emerging social trends, cultural moments, creator behaviors, memes, and platform updates.
• Identify opportunities for PopStroke to participate in trends in authentic and engaging ways.
• Develop rapid-response content around sports, entertainment, venue openings, tournaments, memberships, and brand events.
• Ensure PopStroke remains culturally relevant and top of mind within hospitality and entertainment.
Measure Business Impact
• Establish and track KPIs related to engagement, audience growth, memberships, event participation, website traffic, and revenue influence.
• Partner with Marketing and Digital teams to connect social performance to business outcomes.
• Use analytics and insights to continuously improve content effectiveness and audience engagement.
• Present monthly performance reporting and recommendations.
Build the PopStroke Fan Community
• Develop content and engagement strategies that turn guests into loyal fans.
• Create programs that encourage participation around memberships, league nights, tournaments, special events, and venue experiences.
• Identify opportunities to celebrate guests, members, and communities across social channels.
Partner Across the Organization
• Collaborate closely with Operations, Marketing, Membership, Technology, and Venue teams.
• Build systems for collecting and curating content from venues nationwide.
• Support new venue openings, promotions, tournaments, memberships, partnerships, and company initiatives.
Cover Key Events & Brand Moments
• Attend major company events, venue openings, tournaments, and promotional activations as needed.
• Maintain flexibility to support evening and weekend content opportunities when significant brand moments occur.
Ideal Candidate
• 5+ years of social media, digital marketing, or content leadership experience.
• 3+ years leading social strategy and audience growth for a consumer-facing brand.
• Proven track record growing highly engaged social communities.
• Experience measuring and reporting the business impact of social campaigns.
• Strong content production and video editing skills.
• Deep understanding of TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, and emerging platforms.
• Strong understanding of platform algorithms, engagement tactics, and audience behavior.
• Excellent storyteller with strong creative instincts.
• Highly analytical and data-driven.
• Comfortable working in a fast-moving, entrepreneurial environment.
• Willing to support key events during evenings and weekends when necessary.
What Success Looks Like
Within the first 12-18 months, this leader will:
• Significantly increase engagement across major social platforms.
• Grow PopStroke's audience and fan community.
• Build a repeatable content engine across all venues.
• Increase participation in memberships, events, leagues, and promotions through social channels.
• Create measurable business impact from social media efforts.
• Establish PopStroke as one of the most engaging brands in hospitality and entertainment.
