Job description

Position Summary:

The Social Media Manager is an individual contributor role with a clear mission: create and execute a compelling, multi-channel social media strategy that furthers our organic marketing efforts, promotes the Cerity Partners brand and offerings, and transforms our social media presence into a revenue-generating growth engine.

This role will set the strategy, lead social-native content creation, measure the results, and create a virtuous test and learn cycle. The ideal candidate is both a skilled content creator, organized project manager, and a rigorous, analytically minded strategist. They will bring a point of view on platforms, formats, our key target audiences, and the latest trends. They will be able to deliver ready-to-review assets and data-backed recommendations to the Marketing team leadership for next steps. Candidates should have a deep experience in social media and they should be comfortable operating with autonomy in a fast-paced financial services environment where judgment and details matter.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Fully own and oversee all brand social media channels for the firm, including B2C and B2B audience publishing.
  • Develop and deploy a social media presence for CP influencers, including developing thought leadership content, ghostwriting posts, and coaching senior executives on voice and engagement - with the interpersonal skill to manage those relationships effectively and keep senior stakeholders invested and on-brand.
  • Serve as a social media evangelist and expert, offering ongoing training sessions to turn colleagues into brand ambassadors.
  • Contribute to social media toolkit for CP advisors, including templates, guidelines, and compliance-aligned content that enables them to represent the brand effectively on their own channels.
  • Develop and own the CP social media strategy, including a clear point of view on how to generate the highest ROI across platform prioritization, content formats, audience segmentation, and publishing cadence across B2C and B2B channels.
  • Work across the Marketing team to develop social media campaigns that speak to our target personas.
  • Support launches, announcements, mergers, events, and other key moments with social and digital components.
  • Draft, copyedit, and coordinate approval for all social media activity.
  • Lead social and digital activation for launches, announcements, mergers, events, and other key moments.
  • Partner with agencies, internal teams, and contractors to develop content, including LinkedIn posts, YouTube assets, and paid media campaigns.
  • Support community management, including monitoring comments and conversations.
  • Own performance reporting and build a systematic test-and-learn framework: run structured A/B tests on formats, copy, and creative; conduct audience and competitor research and leverage social listening to sharpen targeting; translate data into content decisions and present findings regularly to the broader team.
  • Manage social listening tools and vendors.
  • Identify social media trends and proactively recommend new strategies.
  • Support social media operations, including asset management, documentation, scheduling, and optimization.
  • Leverage AI tools across the content lifecycle-from ideation and drafting to visual asset creation, audience research, performance analysis, and workflow automation-while exercising sound judgment to adhere with firm guidelines around the use of AI and best practices for preserving the human element of social media.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of dedicated social media experience with demonstrated end-to-end channel ownership - from strategy-setting and content creation through publishing, optimization, and reporting
  • While not required, a background in financial services, a regulated industry, a creative agency, or brand that targets high-net-worth individuals or institutional clients is preferred
  • Proven ability to both set the strategy and personally create the content - not just brief others or manage agencies, but produce publish-ready assets across LinkedIn and YouTube
  • Excellent writing, editing, and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities under tight deadlines
  • Strong analytical mindset with hands-on experience using performance data, A/B testing, and audience research to drive a continuous content optimization cycle
  • Demonstrated ability to connect social media performance to business outcomes - whether that's pipeline contribution or brand engagement metrics that correlate with client retention or talent attraction; candidates who only measure success in social engagement need not apply
  • Polished communicator who is comfortable both presenting to senior leaders and working directly with them as content subjects-able to earn trust, manage those relationships with confidence, and get busy executives to show up, engage, and stay on-brand
  • Experience collaborating across marketing, agencies, compliance, and internal business teams in a matrixed organization
  • Familiarity with AI tools for content creation, research, analysis, and workflow automation is a strong plus; comfort learning and integrating new tools quickly is essential, as is the judgment to apply them responsibly within a regulated environment

Compensation Range:

$95,000 - $115,000
