Position Summary
The Content & Community Manager is responsible for developing, managing, and growing the organization's digital presence through strategic content creation, social media management, online community engagement, and brand storytelling. This role serves as the primary owner of the healthcare organization's social media channels and digital content development, helping strengthen brand awareness, patient engagement, employer branding, and community connection.
The ideal candidate is a creative storyteller, strong writer, social media strategist, and skilled communicator who can translate complex healthcare topics into compelling and accessible content. This role works closely with clinical leaders, operations teams, recruiting, human resources, and executive leadership to develop content that educates, informs, engages, and inspires diverse audiences.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Social Media Strategy & Management
  • Own and manage the organization's social media presence across platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, TikTok, and other emerging channels.
  • Develop and execute a social media strategy aligned with brand strategy, organizational goals, brand standards, community engagement objectives, and recruitment initiatives.
  • Create and maintain monthly and quarterly content calendars.
  • Monitor social media trends, platform updates, and best practices to optimize engagement and performance.
  • Manage day-to-day publishing, scheduling, monitoring, and moderation activities.
  • Build and cultivate online communities that support patient education, employee engagement, recruitment, and brand advocacy.
  • Respond to comments, messages, reviews, and inquiries in a timely, professional, and brand-consistent manner.
  • Follow HIPAA-compliant protocols when responding to patient comments, reviews, and messages containing protected health information (PHI), escalating reputation management concerns and sensitive communications as appropriate.

Content Creation & Storytelling
  • Develop engaging content that highlights patients, caregivers, team members, clinical programs, community partnerships, and organizational achievements.

Requirements
Required Qualifications
Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Digital Media, English, or a related field.

Experience
  • 3+ years of experience managing social media, content marketing, digital communications, or community engagement.
  • Demonstrated experience growing and managing social media communities and engagement.
  • Experience creating content across multiple platforms and formats, including short-form video.

Technical Skills
  • Strong understanding of social media platforms, algorithms, and audience engagement strategies.
  • Working knowledge of healthcare marketing regulations and HIPAA considerations.
  • Experience using social media management tools such as Sprout Social, Hootsuite, Buffer, or similar platforms.
  • Proficiency with Canva and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Familiarity with Google Analytics and social media analytics tools.
  • Basic photo editing and video editing capabilities.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Healthcare, hospital, physician practice, post-acute care, urgent care, or healthcare services experience.
