Job title: Housing Behavioral Support Specialists
Reports to: Housing Support Supervisor and Housing Program Manager
FLSA: Full Time
Pay Rate: Minimum $17.00 hourly to Maximum $19.00 hourly
Position Overview

Serenity Mesa Recovery Center is an adolescent sober living and recovery center in Albuquerque, NM, under the ownership and direction of Healing Addiction in our Community (HAC), a New Mexico non-profit corporation. Serenity Mesa also has a housing component-a single site, and scattered site housings. This position is for the single site known as Villa de Serenity, or “The Village.”

The Housing Support Provider’s primary job responsibilities are to develop and maintain a positive, healthy relationship with the tenants to ensure the overall safety and security of the tenants, lodge staff and Villa de Serenity property by following established policies and procedures.

Essential Job Functions
  • Follow established policies and procedures for the housing program
  • Ensure tenants arrive by curfew
  • Ensure tenants are signing in and out upon departure or arrival
  • Perimeter checks to ensure there are no intruders, or unwelcome guests on the property, or any illicit, licit (but not taken as prescribed), and/or drug paraphernalia
  • Oversee property and buildings to ensure safety and security of tenants
  • Care for and maintain livestock and livestock dwellings
  • Perform room inspections, (if tenant is not present during your shift).
  • Send daily communication of your shift in Teams
  • Allow access to meds upon request and record time and day access is given
  • Clean and sanitize all common areas of the main house-this includes common bathrooms, kitchen, and communal living spaces
  • Administer UAs and breathalyzer to tenants
  • Provide support services to tenants as needed
  • Assist in maintaining inventory and order supplies, food, etc.
  • Essential/Preferred Requirements (Education, Licensing, Experience)
  • Highest education level: high School diploma
  • Minimum one (1) year working with at-risk populations, preferably adolescents and young adults is essential.
  • One (1) year experience managing a transitional living, group home, or similar environment is preferred.
  • Bilingual (Spanish/ English) preferred.
  • Ability to pass drug screening and all background checks is essential.
  • Ability to pass motor vehicle record check is essential.
  • Fluency in verbal and written English communication is essential.
  • Essential Physical Abilities
  • Stand for extended periods of time; push, pull and reach; occasionally bend, stand, stoop and stretch
  • Have full range of body motion
  • Have normal range of hearing and eyesight to record, prepare and communicate appropriate reports; specific vision requirements: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to focus
  • Occasionally lift and carry up to 20 pounds (This weight requirement may be adjusted based on something that the person would normally be expected to do)
  • Must be able to maintain strong boundaries

Work Environment

The work of this position is performed in a single site setting for tenants. The position requires the ability to work under pressure and with a diverse population, including staff, physicians, clients, patients, insurance companies and other members of the public on a regular basis. The position may occasionally cause exposure to communicable diseases, bodily fluids and other conditions common to a shared environment.
