Job description

CUSTODIAN -12 Month Position

  • Dust desks, woodwork, furniture and other equipment.
  • Polish furniture and metal furnishings.
  • Empty wastebaskets; collect and dispose of rubbish.
  • Mow lawns, trim shrubs, rake leaves, and perform other grounds-keeping tasks as
    assigned.
  • Assist in the operation of a low-pressure heating system, including firing.
  • Deliver packages and messages, as assigned.
  • Set-up chairs tables, equipment, etc. for special use of school buildings.
  • Repair window shades, etc., as assigned.
  • Replace light bulbs, soap and towels, etc., as assigned.
  • Paint rooms and equipment, as assigned.
  • Assist in making minor plumbing, carpentry and electrical repairs.
  • Wash windows, walls, blackboards, sinks and other fixtures, etc., as assigned.
  • Clear snow and ice from walks, etc., as assigned when necessary.
  • Assist with kitchen clean up and lunch clean up.
  • Clean walls, clean and sanitize bathrooms.
  • Maintain a clean school environment.
  • Perform other tasks that may be assigned by the School Principal and/or Administrator, Certified Educational Facilities Manager, Lead Custodian, and Business Administrator/Board Secretary.
  • Sweep and mop floors and stairs, scrape, polish and maintain as necessary.


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Working knowledge of building cleaning procedures, supplies and equipment.
  • Ability to follow simple oral written instructions.
  • Willingness to perform routine cleaning and other manual tasks.
  • Ability to get along well with others; works well within team cleaning environment
  • Dependability.
  • Must be able to obtain a Boiler License within one year of employment.


Salary: 
$41,730
