Join BJC HealthCare as a PRN Float Student Nurse Tech (SNT) and be part of a team committed to delivering extraordinary care across our East Region hospitals. This unique, system-wide float role offers the opportunity to support patients in a variety of acute care settings while building clinical confidence and skills alongside experienced caregivers. Role Highlights
  • PRN, self-scheduled role (minimum 24 hours every 6 weeks)
  • Includes 12 weekend hours and holiday rotation

Key Requirements
  • Currently enrolled in an accredited nursing program
  • Completion of nursing fundamentals with clinical component required
  • Willingness to travel to all East Region locations (including Illinois)
  • Ability to adapt quickly and provide compassionate, patient-centered care in new environments
  • Must submit end-of-term grades and upcoming school schedule to remain active
  • Targeted start date: 8/10 only
  • Initial 3-week full-time training commitment required to support your success in the role before transitioning to the regular schedule.

Role Purpose
Provides multi-skilled, direct patient care, under the direction and supervision of a registered professional nurse. This job requires completion of a foundational nursing skills course or equivalent (fundamentals, foundations, or adult/peds health.
Responsibilities
  • Assists nurse with patient and family education. Documents all patient care activities provided with correct medical terminology. Acts as 1:1 patient safety sitter as necessary.
  • Ensures availability of supplies and equipment to meet each patient's needs.
  • Implements direct patient care under the supervision of the nursing team.
  • Collects clinical data and information on patients and reports abnormal findings to the nurse.
  • Instructs patients in preparations for tests and procedures.
