Job description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Quality Inspector to support welding, fabrication, assembly, and electrical control panel operations within a manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for ensuring products meet internal quality standards, customer requirements, and applicable industry regulations.

The ideal candidate has strong experience with weld inspection, dimensional verification, fabrication quality, and UL-compliant electrical control panel inspection throughout incoming, in-process, and final manufacturing stages.


ResponsibilitiesWeld & Fabrication Inspection
  • Perform visual weld inspections using engineering drawings, weld symbols, and fabrication specifications
  • Verify weld size, profile, continuity, and workmanship
  • Identify weld discontinuities including:
    • Cracks
    • Porosity
    • Lack of fusion
    • Undercut
    • Overlap
    • Distortion
  • Confirm adherence to welding procedures and quality standards
  • Support weld traceability and inspection documentation
  • Communicate quality concerns with production and leadership teams
Incoming, In-Process & Final Inspection
  • Inspect castings, machined parts, fabricated components, and purchased materials
  • Conduct in-process inspections during fabrication and assembly
  • Perform final inspections for:
    • Dimensional accuracy
    • Fit-up
    • Torque verification
    • Alignment
    • Overall workmanship
  • Use calipers, micrometers, gauges, and precision measuring tools
  • Inspect electrical control panels in accordance with UL 508A standards
Quality Documentation & Compliance
  • Document inspection results and maintain quality records
  • Support nonconformance reports (NCRs) and containment activities
  • Assist with Material Review Board (MRB) processes
  • Verify calibration status of inspection equipment
  • Support internal audits and continuous improvement initiatives

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 5+ years of experience in manufacturing inspection, welding, fabrication, or quality environments
  • Ability to read and interpret:
    • Engineering drawings
    • Weld symbols
    • Fabrication specifications
  • Knowledge of visual weld inspection practices
  • Experience using mechanical measurement tools
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability
  • UL Certification or ability to obtain certification required

Preferred Qualifications
  • AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification
  • Familiarity with AWS welding standards
  • Experience with ISO 9001 quality systems
  • Experience inspecting UL 508A electrical control panels
  • Background in pump manufacturing, rotating equipment, or heavy fabrication
