Midwood Smokehouse is dedicated to doing barbecue right—no pellets, no gas, no power outlets, just hardwood and hard work!

Midwood Smokehouse is looking to add an experienced line cook to our Birkdale Village - Huntersville team. We provide the Carolina's with the best BBQ the city has to offer. If you have high-volume experience in a scratch kitchen, we would love to meet you! This is an excellent opportunity to join one of Charlotte’s largest food groups with endless growth potential.

Line Cook daily responsibilities include:

  • Create mouth-watering barbecue dishes from scratch, following our recipes to produce consistent and high-quality results.
  • Master and adhere to standard barbecue cooking methods, quality standards, and kitchen practices.
  • Smoke a variety of meats, including pork, beef, chicken, and ribs, using traditional hardwood smokers. Additionally, cook other menu items using a flat-top grill and fryers.
  • Portion all products accurately, follow recipes precisely, and ensure that plate presentation showcases the authenticity of our barbecue.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workstation, adhere to sanitization standards, and follow all food handling guidelines to ensure safety and hygiene.

We Are Looking for a Line Cook who:

  • Is able to lead a team to consistently produce excellent results.
  • Can excel in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen environment.
  • Has at least two years of experience in kitchen preparation and cooking.
  • Has good English communication skills.
  • Is comfortable standing for long periods and can lift up to 50 pounds, if needed.
  • Has the flexibility to work weekends and some holidays.
